Yeah, but sort of taken slightly out of context. She also talked about how satirical the show is.

Katey is very smart and I think she said it as plainly as she could. The show is a satire. The cast, writers, etc all knew this and this is what they could use the characters as a playground for ideas. The women were ridiculed just like the men were. The show took a jab at everyone and everything, often with irreverent humor No one on the show was meant to be looked to as a role model. From the show's beginnings as "Not the Cosbys" and throughout it's history it showcased the Bundys as the outcast family in the neighborhood. People could identify with the humor because at some point and in some families you'll probably have encountered people like this. A father who has no ambition. A mother who is more concerned about her personal welfare than that of her family. Kids who don't respect their parents, mush less each other. The episodes were loaded with jokes but some people started taking things too seriously. That's usually the moment any joke stops being funny.

Reminds me of a car plate in the neighbourhood:
S-TD 19..
(I do not live in Stuttgart.)
Was MWC really a mysogynistic show or had it dim-witted male characters who indulged in sexist behaviour?
Perhaps rather the latter.

Thought she was ripping the show there for a while. I hope people read the whole article.
