Yes you're right.
But the box doesn't look ugly -> it's better than the us box - since the inlay has printed some things under the dvds.
See photos below.
No, I don't know any other stores.
But amazon.de is very fast - and I think the price is ok.

Yes, you can
But please read the articles according to the "speedup problem" with the german set. Altough it seems to be a rather common problem.

allrite, checking it out now
im just guessing.. that the sped up episodes are the ones that were released as syndicated in the U.S?
Ive seen more shows sped up when converted to PAL.. Cheers for instance.. but I dont mind.. hey.. its no insanely big matter.. only 4%

I posted this on the DVDTalk forum but thought it might be of interest here. If not, my apologies.
I have now looked at the times of all of the episodes on the German version. The original review posted at the beginning of this thread said that most episodes were around 23:10, but the 7 edited episodes were around 22:30. On the German DVD set, the only episodes that are 23:10 are the ones that are "cut" on the USA release. All of the remaining episodes are around 22:13 - 22:28. At first I thought all of these were edited and I was going to have to get the USA version too. However, I guess it is possible that they just took all of the episodes that were uncut on the USA release and directly converted them from 24fps (NTSC) to 25fps (PAL). This explains the higher pitched vocals. Going from 24fps to 25fps would change a 23:09 minute uncut NTSC episodes to a 22:13 PAL episode. I do not have the USA version so I can't compare the 23:10 minute USA episodes to the 22:13 German episodes to see if any footage is cut. Is there any other way to see if make sure they are unedited?

Hi thanks for the infos.
That's the same some experts found out here in Europe.
I think Sony will never give us a perfect set

.
I'm in contact with Andreas and provide him too with the latest news about the set.
I think he will update his pages soon with the speed up problematic.
For myself I'm a bit lazy to update the site, the blogging is much easier and not so time intensive (yeahm, shame on me)

Find out if "It's A Bundyful Life" is uncut because the episode was originally shown as one long episode and then it was broken down into two separate episodes for syndication. Footage was taken out of part 2 to make room for the recap of episode 1 and extra set of credits that wasn't in the original version. So if the episode is in 2 parts than its the same edited version that's on the US box, which means the German box set isn't uncut.

Indeed I've heard that the Bundyful Life episode is not exactly the same as sold on the VHS-Tape.
It seems as there is at least one scene missing.
BUT it's the same version that was on tv. So on tv the full length episode was never shown. Only sold on VHS.

After watchign this set, as far as I can tell it all seems uncut. Don;t know about that Bundyful life one...its been too long sinc eI seen it on TV
Unless you really pay attention to the voices, you can tell of the slight speed up.
Still I rather the PAL speed up than paying money for the edited US set.
SPeaking of music cuts, another series I am gettign R2 version is Quantum leap, I am sure many here know about the the R2 retaining all the music
