Ed and david weren't invited to Amanda's wedding (same sex) because she knew they would be laughing through the whole thing...something about them looking like like little penguins in penguin suits, referring to tuxedos for the bride and bride. Plus something about Ed admitting that he used to threaten amanda by telling her that his chair had a "get rid of amanda button" whereas she couldn't do the same to Ed. You could tell just by watching her character that she herself was pretty stuck up. I'm sure she has very opposite political views as compared to her male castmates. I think the interview was by mr. Pollack? Forget his first name. Looooong interview. Find it on you tube.

I'm going to have to jump in here. What Ed said was completely homophobic, not to mention juvenile and flat out embarrassing. This wasn't the first time he got trashed for a quote he gave to the media over the last couple of years. Ever since he got his "Modern Family" gig, he seems full of himself. He went off on Jane Lynch for winning an Emmy over his tv wife. It was completely inappropriate and he sounded unhinged.

Amanda was playing a character, a character she didn't write nor create. She was totally invested in MWC, acting and directing it. I'm not sure what political views have to do with anything.
I don't see how anything you recall makes Ed sound like a great guy.
I love Ed's portrayal of Al Bundy. I grew up with MWC. That being said, the character and the actor are two different people. I grew up with MWC, and collect MWC memorabilia. I should also mention that Amanda's portrayal of Marcy Rhodes/D'arcy was amazing.
I'm totally for a spin-off series. I'm sure the cast would put in appearances. I remember each actor except Katey saying that they would be totally up for a reunion episode. We should all come up with what the characters would be doing today. Al would still be working at the shoe store as he can't retire; Peggy's addicted to online shopping... I can't come up with a premise for Kelly. Maybe she would be the head of a modeling agency, handling a whole bunch of blonde airheads.
