New guy here. I've been wondering if any other MWC fans were planning on watching Hondo on the 18th, and I'm glad to see that there are.

I got my copy a few months ago- I'm probably not going to watch at 3:30 (got to go to work) but I'm ready!

Hi Terry, and welcome to the forum! I'm glad we caught your attention with this topic :) Whenever you see the movie during the day, please stop by and post some thoughts once you've done so.

Dr. Shoe wrote:I never heard about this before but according to Wikipedia episode 824 was actually shown in 3D! Did you guys know that? I guess it was in homage to Hondo which as I mentioned above was originally shown in 3D.
If we didn't know, then the end credits would be terribly confusing.
I guess that's why Hondo was so heavily featured in the episode.

The episode was part of a promo night for FOX and 3D (included Revenge of the Nerds, too)
here are 2 promos:

Unfortunately I haven't found it, and I can't afford to download right now. :(
I'll have to live vicariously through you guys, like Al does Aaron.

Is it really only 8am in Chicago now? Crikey, I'm gonna be asleep (it's 12:30am here now). My last chance will be to do a final run to the video (er, DVD) store tomorrow and watch it before coming online again. Either that or find some youtube vids :)

Aww, that's a shame. You could always download it in a different way... Y'know...

Weird, I saw "Part 1 of 14" and just assumed the other 13 parts were available too. It's definitely available through torrents, so go ahead people. Make the Duke proud!

FYI, I watched episodes 0222 and 0824 earlier today. Both are two of the best episodes from each season.

What time is it? Why it's 3:30 Chicago time, which means it's time to watch HONDO! See you all back here when the movie is over so we can start discussing it. This one's for you, Al.

FOR HONDO!!!!!!!

That was great. That's the Duke, independence, toughness, and won't take s*%t from anybody. You could see Al's mimicry of him right away. I like the bar fight. "These shirts are hard to come by."

Some other great John Wayne movies I like: The Searchers , considered by many to be one of the greatest films of all time and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. True Grit, McClintock there are sooo many, Al would love every one. Except one, the worst JW movie ever is The Conqueror The Duke plays Genghis Khan and let me tell you, it just does not work.
